بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As you maybe already aware, my blog has been closed down (as they put it on the posterous website: temporarily disabled).  May Allah guide them to re-enable my blog so that they and we can continue to benefit from the postings contained therein, ameen!  In the meantime the da’wah must go on whilst I decide what to do with regards to the blog or possibly setting up a dedicated website.  May Allah make things easy for the to take the most beneficial of steps in all aspects of my affairs, ameen!

In the meantime, I have decided to post the weekly khutbah on my dropbox account and make the download link available to all those who wish to benefit, barak Allahu feek.

This offers a temporary solution to the problem whilst allowing those who wish to take benefit, to do so.

As you may also have noticed, I have inserted the Hijri date within my posting so that we can become accustomed to using the calendar of the Muslims and I would also encourage all of you to start doing the same in all of your postings, barak Allahu feekum!

The Days of Exams – The Worst of Days – 23-02-1434 – Dr. Murtaza bin Baksh

Right now (in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) in the education system exams are taking place.  As those days come closer many changes begin to take place in our homes.  For our children going through this process there are no worse days for them other than these days.

In this opportunity we have today we will attempt to understand whether these day, truly are the worst of days.  Those children that have wasted their entire year in playing, wasting their time being lazy and foolish.  Is it still possible for these children to pass and be successful or is it impossible!

Advice and Tips for :

  • Parents
  • Children
  • Teachers
  • How can we make these days of examination good days?
  • What is the method we need to apply in order for them to be successful days?
  • What is the relationship of all these issues to the trials and tests of life that we have been through and will go through?
  • What is the most important examination we will be participating in, and have we prepared for it fully?

This is what will be discussed in this khutbah.

Beyond Words

It is reported that ‘Alī b. Abī Tālib – Allāh be pleased with him – said: Mention what you will of the greatness of Allāh, but Allāh is greater than anything you say. And mention what you will of the Fire, but it is more severe than anything you say. And mention what you will of Paradise, but it is better than anything you say. [Abū Bakr Al-Daynūrī, Al-Mujālasah wa Jawāhir Al-’Ilm article 853.]
